So many of you who have been following may have caught on that I am a teacher. I love teaching. It is something I dreamed about doing when I was in grade 1. Since then, I have definitely taken the long route to get here, working on business administration, as well as psychology over the years. But in the end, teaching won out.
Teaching abroad is also a dream of mine. I really, really, REALLY, want to travel the world and experience new cultures. So I will be looking for a position in the future to make the change from Canadian teacher, to International teacher. But in the meantime I am going to blog about what works for me, or doesn’t. As well as cool lesson plan ideas, daily struggles, and the likes. Take a look around. If you see something you like, share it, use it, love it! We are all in this together!
As for teaching abroad – I have been looking mainly into International Schools. There are some schools that teach Canadian curriculum abroad, but not as many as American or British, plus they don’t seem to pay as well. Most of them seem to want you to already be over in their country.. which means you need to save up enough to live comfortably for a bit in case you don’t get a job right away. As well as limiting your options, or making you move once you already get settled.
So.. how do I save up enough money? Well we cut back here, but I am also going to start uploading all the awesome content I create onto Teachers Pay Teachers and hopefully sell enough to offer a bit of a monthly side income.. wish me luck!
